Arts Camp For Ages 8-12 Years and 13-17 years
"Find Your Beat" arts camp featuring music, art and expressive movement is scheduled for August 1-4th at Academy of Fine Arts (The Dance Connection) in Woodward. Director Mary Myers has stated that the camp came about this year because of parents asking why the local arts camp held at Woodward Arts Theatre did not include younger students. So the camp is being offered this first year as a basic introductory camp to the arts for younger children and it is the hope of Myers that it will become a great pre-training adventure for participants to then be able to attend the local camp supported by the Woodward Arts Theater once they turn 8 years of age.
Particpants attending "Find Your Beat" will attend half a day and there is a morning and early afternoon session. Each session is limited to 30 children, so early registration is recommended. Shorts and a tank top are expressed as proper attire for both boys and girls along with tennis shoes. No flip flops or sandles.

Woodward Arts Theatre will once again be offering their Summer Arts Camp this year August 1-5th. The camp theme is "Express Yourself" and offers sever genre on visual and performing arts for children to participate in. Music Camps For Ages 3 Years Through 17
Music camps are available at Woodward Academy of Music, a division of the Dance Connection LLC, in Woodward. The various camps start June 20th and run through the first week of August. Camps for the very young, such as Rhythm Stick Camp, Kazoo Camp and Magic Flute are limited in size so ear registration is highly recommended. Camps for children and young adults this summer include Guitar Camp, Build Your Own Band, Build YourOwn Electric Guitar, Play Your Electric Guitar, and more.
Summer Private instruction is also available for ages 4 yrs through Adult. Adults that are too busy for a weekly class can check out the FLEX Lesson plan.
