Dairy Queen in Woodward

The Dairy Queen in Woodward has been a long standing business in the community and owned by the Vassar family. A newly done parking area makes for a great gathering place in early evening for a cold drink or ice cream cone. Take a moment to slow down and sit out front to watch traffic go by or remember the days of  "dragging Main". Like the last two businesses mentioned, you can check out the DQ Facebook page to find out about their specials.

Jewelry Station Facebook

A real treat that we just discovered is that the Jewelry Station has a Facebook page and are offering some very good specials and auctions right on the page! So if you are in the market for some nice looking items, you just might want to go to their page and "Friend" them so that you know when the next item is posted.

A Sweet Life

Have you visited the new candy store at 806 Main Street? If not, plan to drop in soon and see what all that they have. Besides candy, you can also purchase popcorn and gifts. Also check out their Facebook Page as well.

School Starts Next Week in Woodward

Woodward schools will begin next week on August 18th. Parents in the area are already flocking into stores for school supplies and more as families prepare for the big day.

With the start of school also comes the start up of other activities and classes for children in the area. Kids' Inc is now taking registration for fall soccer and Academy of Fine Arts (some know it as The Dance Connection) has been registering for fall classes since July.

With the start up of school and activities, parents should remind themselves to take a breather from time to time with all of the hustle and bustle. When visiting with the folks at Academy of Fine Arts, we fopund ou that they are offering something new this fall, Parents night out.

The first Parents Night Out event will be held on August 26th from 6:00pm-10:00 pm. The event is for ages 3 yrs -10 years and includes games, music, signing, crafts, movie and popcorn for a small fee. They can even supply your child with a pizza dinner for an extra $3. Registration for each age level is limited and you do not have to be a student of their fine arts academy to participate!

It sounds like a really good deal, so we encourage parents that cannot get out from time to time due to a lack of a babysitter to check them out! They are located at 609 Main street and you can reach them at 580-256-3262.

We are sure there are other great back to school events going on and we encourage you to keep sharing them with us so we can post them!
